Finding Our playlists | Print |  E-mail
Written by Eric Hines

There are now a couple of ways to find out about the music we've been playing and even to quickly & easily purchase CDs and mp3s of that music.

During regular broadcast hours (generally, Monday-Friday 6am-2am; Saturday 8am-2am; Sunday 8am-midnight, all times USA Eastern) our playlists can be found by clicking on Playlists on the right side of the top menu at wnmc.org. This takes you to our Spinatron account where you can see the current playlist, browse old ones and search within the selected month.

As you can see in the screenshot above, these playlists provide fairly complete information on the items played. Do be aware that the times can be somewhat off depending on the level of attention the DJ is able to give playlist logging. I know in this case, many of the listed times are probably off by several minutes. But this info should definitely be enough to get you on the right scent. In future there will be a way of contacting DJs with inquiries through this playlist page.

You'll notice, too, that there are purchase links for all the music (Itunes & Amazon) which work fairly well and the station gets a small cut of anything you purchase through those links.

During the Overnight Automated programming (all times not listed as "regular" above) Playlists are kept temporarily on a page that you can reach by clicking on "Overnights" in the top menu at wnmc.org.

As you'll see this is an altogether more primitive affair (partially because I did it). I'll probably be able to fix a few of the more egregious faults of this page in the near future, but for now it does perform at least one function: it lists music we've played on the Overnight program (and what we've played off the computer during the day).

This listing is created by our automation program and lists the last few hours of music it played. As of now, there is no way to search an archive of these playlists. The purchase links also give WNMC a modest cut of the proceeds, but the search function doesn't work quite as well as the Spinatron one, so if you use it, make sure you've got the right result before making a purchase.

The listed times, though, are exact.

We'll be working to improve & merge the two playlist systems in the coming months. If you have any questions about using the lists, searching, or buying through these playlists, write me a note.
