BLOGGING FOR POSTERITY....Micah Middaugh and Andrea Moreno-Beals of Breathe Owl Breathe are taking the time to let you all in on the scene at Rothbury.And as a special contributor who has a keen interest in the intent of this first-of-its kind music festival in michigan, billed as "A Sustainable Festival Revolution" is Dustin Edwards, of Airborne or Aquatic and other Earthwork project fame. ....These folks will be surveying the good, better and best of the weekend and, together, we will have the inside scoop on michigan musicians at Rothbury.....What else can we ask for? First, kellybeez penchant for strong coffee during peak entertainment hours shall be met and exceeded by our friendly local vendor, Higher Grounds Trading Company, the folks who produce Safe Passage coffee beans.�We may even get some perspective from the vendors point of view in this grand adventure we are embarking upon.....

GREENSKY BLUEGRASS....Our friends Greensky Bluegrass�are opening the festival.��It's never not a good time to promote michigan music, sayeth the double negative slogan.�
Winners of a recent Telluride competition (2006" hey two years isn't that long ago),the combination of��Michael Arlen Bont, Dave Bruzza, Paul Hoffman, Mike Devol and Anders Beck plus the unofficial adoption of the group by Railroad Earth's Tim Carbone makes for explosive music both on and off the stage.....I have been ruminating on "Just To Lie", off of GSBG's new release, Five Interstates. People write about what they know, and these boys have been touring so hard, Interstated songs are no surprise. What I like about "Just To Lie" is the beautiful starkness of what it says. Things happen when they happen because they need to happen then. It's the aftermath we all get clogged up with, the morning afters.....Then we roll into Zappa Plays Zappa after GSBG. ....The last time I heard Frank was in Cobo Hall, and we literally had the nosebleed seats and I leaned my head back against the concrete wall to feel the vibrations of the building swirl through my mind while my eyes were closed. Hey, we couldn't see a darn thing onstage, so one improvises��....Sometimes God gives one musician so much talent it spills out for generations thereafter.....
